Product Description
Persimmon is a fruit that comes from several species of trees in the genus Diospyros, with the most commonly cultivated being Diospyros kaki (Fuyu). Originating from the Sharon plain in Israel, persimmons have been cultivated in China and Japan since 1000 BCE and were later introduced to Europe, Africa, and America. China is the leading producer of persimmons globally, followed by South Korea, Japan, Brazil, and Azerbaijan. Persimmons are sweet and have a texture similar to apricots, with a slightly tough skin. They are often described as having a honey or brown sugar-like flavor.
