Also known as the Passion fruit , because its flower contains shapes that resemble three nails and a crown of thorns, in the manner of those described in the Passion of Christ. The passion fruit is native to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest . From there it was taken to Australia and around 1923 it began to be cultivated in Hawaii. In Colombia, where this pulp comes from, its first crops date back to 1936. It is also produced in Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador.
